About Us

Welcome to the Pelican with a snout full of stories.

In each of us there is a veiled appetite to challenge ourselves to something never thought possible. Maybe a touch with our artistic side, or a possible insatiable urge to create something of our own. When we reach into our deepest imaginations and throw caution to the wind, we may be surprised at what we might find.
My name is Gord Taylor and I created, Pelicansnout Design as a vessel for inspiration and reinvention. Every game, literary works or piece of art tells a story. Join me on this journey, and perhaps through these stories, it will encourage you to tell a few stories of your own.

ABOUT OUR GAMES

Do you ever have an idea that just won’t go away? KNOO was a transformation from a love of map drawing that grew into a concept for our first board game. Who would have imagined thirty seven years later that dusty sketch would find a home in Pelicansnout’s creative endeavors.
We all have our own journeys and here with KNOO you plot your own course, strategize and problem solve, demonstrating your skill at how you will deal with real life disasters. You may never look at a map the same way again.

ABOUT OUR LITERARY WORKS

A quirky intelligent kid, a monkey with a monkey wrench, a girl with a curiosity toward bugs and a time machine. Here at Pelicansnout we reach into the literary depths of our imagination. Follow us as we develop stories out of our hippocampus to the paper. We will tease you one morsel at a time as the adventure unfolds leaving you itching for more. Book in progress!

ABOUT OUR CREATORS

Grab a piece of paper, a pencil and cut loose without hesitation. There is nothing you can’t do when you put your mind to it. Start with basic shapes, lines and forms. Draw them over and over again. There is an artistic side in all of us knocking on the door to get out. Our creative works are growing with every stroke we make. Take a look inside and see what we’ve been up to.

GORD TAYLOR

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in 1961, and at an early age became very interested in his artistic side. As a young boy he would sketch and enjoy drawing comic book characters along with a thirst for imagination. In his early 20’s, he and his brother were fond of adventure canoeing and spent much time getting to know Mother Nature. At 25, Gord moved to the woods and managed a research station after graduating from Natural Resource Management. Later he started his own Custom Design/Build Company which he still operates. His passion has always been art. One day, an old game he had started 37 years earlier, caught his attention sitting dusty on a shelf. Gord figured it was time to begin transferring those ideas to a new page. KNOO was born!

Never too old to follow your dreams, where dreams continue to find their way from pencil to page!

LILLIAN TAYLOR

Lillian Taylor was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan in December 1934. As a child, she loved the outdoors and the country atmosphere of the rugged farmlands, rivers and wildlife. She moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba as a teenager and later married her husband Ed in 1955 and raised four children. She enjoyed a long career in real estate. Due to a skating mishap in 1989, she returned to a childhood love of art and began painting in oils and acrylics. Her natural talent evolved through the painting of wolves. Lillian’s works consist of wildlife, Canadian scenes and Early Primitives. At 91, she still devotes her time to her career as an artist and presently creating and selling custom birdhouses.
